So.. this is what my friend Heather said :

"the bus...hmmm... maybe it was a bus gone crazy! maybe there was a grapefruit that fell out of joey's lunch bag...those brown bags can't hold anything...especially when the condensation on the oranges and grapfruits or juice boxes gets the bag wet and causes it to tear easily... so yeah...the grapefruit got lose in the bus and went rolling around...when they came shooting down the hill in town, late for school, the grapefruit got stuck under the break pedal... and got stuck...the bus driver was stuck inside screaming, "i can't stop..." the kids jumping around yelling, "faster, faster!" and the towns folk saw it on tv and were waving at the security camera on the bus and all the first grader's photos taken on their camera phones. they wanted to be on tv... the 11 o'clock news.... i bet that's what happened. "

I think she might be on to something here...

but I'm still not entirely sure how the bikers fit in.
